For VWA members who want to contribute.

The group advances learning, training and skills through XR and virtual worlds across formal education, vocational training, higher education, workplaces and lifelong learning. It connects pedagogical practice with the needs of citizens, businesses and public administrations, including upskilling and reskilling. Accessibility, inclusion, ethics, trust and interoperability guide its work. The group also explores generative and agentic AI for tutors, coaches, adaptive simulations and content, with transparency, safety, privacy and human oversight, alongside industrial digital twins and simulations for safety and maintenance training.

The proposal connects the SRIA’s priorities on skills, education and adoption with human-centric accessibility, interoperability and societal needs. It draws on relevant work from several European projects, skills academies and the Immersive Learning Research Network.

  1. Map use cases, competence needs, barriers, evidence and good practices for learning, training and skills in virtual worlds.
  2. Build a community for regular exchanges among relevant stakeholders.
  3. Support the design, implementation and use of skills initiatives and practical resources.
  4. Advance pedagogically meaningful, transferable and responsible approaches that are accessible, inclusive and ethical.
  5. Provide evidence for SRIA updates, standards, consultations and future calls where relevant and within the group’s capacity.
  6. Explore responsible uses of generative and agentic AI for learning, training and skills.
